Evolution of “Breaking-up”

02 February 2008 | WTF | Suneth Mendis

There was a time when a couple who wanted to end their relationship would meet and talk things through and say goodbye. Then things became much easier with the invention of the phone. Breaking up on the phone, though a cowardly way out, seemed to be a more attractive option to some people. With the dawn of mobile phones, the necessity to “talk-things-over” became obsolete. A simple SMS would suffice. Since I have not tried this method during my fair share of break-ups, it would have come as a total shock if that had happened to me. May be on the same note, breaking-up on MSN seemed to be an acceptable solution too. But recently, my sister-in-law has found a more “convenient” way to break-up with a guy. Or should I say her and her boyfriend found a convenient way to end things. Simply change the status in your FACEBOOK account from attached to single!

Probably the lamest I’ve heard would have to be Phil Collins breaking up with his wife WITH A FAX!
